New Year’s Makeover
The makeover is not for me. If anything, I’m trying to become lower maintenance this year. The lucky recipient of the ‘New Year, New You’ makeover here on TTTW is…my book series!
Remember my book series? No, why would you? I last spoke of it in August. One of my big goals for 2023 is to step outside my comfort zone and basically stop feeling awkward about creating work. I’m very close to being finished writing the series. It’s come delightfully full circle in so many ways. It’s great, and it’s time to stop hiding it.
Of course, that’s not to say the decor and fashion content will cease. On the contrary. I have more than ever planned, particularly for the house. (I just ordered a few things to get the 2023 projects underway and am so excited.)
As it’s been more than a year since I released the series, a fresh batch of covers seemed in order, particularly for Book One. To kick off 2023, I typed ‘politics’ into Canva image search instead of ‘beach.’ Half the covers got a quick font change (farewell, script), and the other three got a total redesign.
More books are also coming this year! Pre-Pedigree, I wrote a series of eight campus novels. This series is called Cambridge and takes place in and around (you guessed it) Cambridge, MA. It follows a group of early-career academics through their career and personal struggles and is set between 1999 and 2018. It also leads nicely into Pedigree and takes place within the same fictional Boston universe. I look forward to sharing both series with you in 2023. Life, love, and the ad hoc tenure review process. The Cambridge series has it all.
If you’re reading this post, I hope we can keep in touch throughout 2023, and I’d love to connect with you as a reader of the series as well! I’m here primarily to make friends rather than sell stuff and am always happy to chat.
